Levittown-Fairless Hills Rescue Squad
Education Page

The Levittown-Fairless Hills Rescue Squad offers its members various educational opportunities for maintaining either
their EMT or Paramedic certifications.  EMTs are required to maintain 24 con-ed credits within 3 years of their
certification date.  Paramedics are required to maintain 18 hours of con-ed a year to maintain medical command
status.

Paramedics are also required to maintain Basic Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric
Advanced Life Support, and Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support.  The Levittown-Fairless Hills Rescue Squad also
has a committee to ensure that the members are informed of upcoming con-ed classes and making sure that student members are progressing toward senior member status.

Another aspect of education is Quality Improvement.  The QI Team's main goals are to review patient care reports
to ensure that the established protocols of the county and state are being adhered to and maintain quality care
to the patients we serve.

Our QI Team is one of the few in the county to operate at the organizational level in order to comply with Act 82.
The committee works very closely with the Unit Medical Director who volunteers his time to provide medical expertise.
