Helpful Safety Tips when Calling 911
Prepare for the possibility of an Emergency.  Make sure your house number is clearly visible on your door and can be seen from the street. Apartment dwellers should make sure that the complex has clearly marked the buildings and apartment numbers.

In the event of an Emergency, you can also help us find you more quickly if you have someone standing at the street to meet the ambulance when it arrives.

If any family members have an extensive medical history or take medications, keep this information written down and have it readily available for the ambulance personnel.

If you have allergies to medications or any serious medical conditions, consider wearing "Medical Alert" bracelets or necklaces.  These items can be purchased in most pharmacies and are used to carry Vital medical information about the wearer.  They are very helpful in the event you should be unable to verbally give this information to ambulance and/or hospital personnel.
